Nigel is an experienced and impartial construction professional specialising in the resolution and avoidance of disputes and contentious issues. As a practising Quantity Surveyor for over 30 years he works exclusively on civil engineering projects; particularly highways, structures, water, rail and infrastructure. He provides expert opinion and findings on such matters as the interpretation of contract documents, entitlement, quantum, delay and disruption, extensions of time, interim/final accounts, variations and contractual claims. Nigel is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Fellow of the Institute of Highways and Transportation, Professional Dispute Board Member with the DB Federation (Geneva), Member of the Society of Construction Law, Member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (USA) and included in the UK Register of Expert Witnesses. He holds a post-graduate Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration, and is a panel or listed arbitrator with various international arbitral organisations. Has acted as party representative in many adjudications, and as a quantum expert in arbitration. Nigel possesses detailed knowledge of Dispute Boards practice and procedure, and is approved as a suitable Dispute Board member by the DB Federation and the DRBF. Particular expertise in ICE, NEC and FIDIC contract conditions.
